How much do you love the new Occasions Catalogue? Are you like me and find something new every time you look through it?
One little kit you may not have noticed is the new Artisan Embellishment kit on page 27 ….
This kit is just gorgeous and so very versatile. One thing I will point out though is that in the catalogue it lists 4 white doillies when in fact there are 2 in each kit so just be wary of that.
The rose cutouts are lovely and you can use either side so you have white or sahara sand. You can also use these as masks to sponge the rose design onto a card before using the actual cut out on another card – cool eh? Then there’s the beautiful buttons, pearls, lace, flower trim and velvet trim – just divine.
Here’s a very simple card you can make …
I simply used the same colour cardstock as used in the lace – Rose Red and added a white panel at the bottom to stamp my greeting from Butterfly Basics. Used one of the clear buttons and popped a small pearl in the centre.
I then cased the decorated journal from the Catalogue …
Now I’m not sure if you can see the stamping I did on the journal cover – I took the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics and stamped it in versamark just to give it a bit of pattern. Then I adhered one of the doilies, lace, velvet trim and butterfly. The embellishment on top of the butterfly is simply one of the silver buttons with a large pearl on top – it reminds me of the old pearl buttons you used to see on Grandma’s Blouses and Cardigans! I then cut off two of the ribbon rose trim and popped them either side – all my layers were adhered with the Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive – I find that will stick anything to anything!
I love this little ‘old fashioned’ kit and I know you will too!
